2. FULL STORY — PART 1
A man was sitting in the back of a taxi when he suddenly spotted something that made his stomach drop.
Across the street, his wife was walking into a hotel with another man.
He stared through the taxi window, hardly believing what he was seeing.
“Stop!” he told the driver. “Do you see that woman going into the hotel?”
The driver glanced over.
“Yes. Why?”
“That’s my wife.”
The driver looked back at him, waiting for an explanation.
The husband pulled out a picture of his wife and said, “I’ll pay you $500 right now if you go in there, find her, and bring her back to me.”
The driver’s eyes widened.
“Five hundred dollars? What do I have to do?”
“Get her out of that hotel. Here’s her picture. Just make sure you bring her back to this taxi.”
The driver eagerly agreed.
The husband stayed in the taxi, staring nervously toward the hotel entrance.
A few minutes passed.
Then suddenly, the driver came rushing back.
But he wasn’t alone.
He was pulling a woman toward the taxi.
The husband leaned forward, shocked.
“That’s not my wife!” he shouted.
The driver stopped.
He looked at the woman.
Then he looked at the photograph.

3. FULL STORY — PART 2
The husband was completely confused.
“I gave you a picture of my wife!” he said. “That woman isn’t her!”
The driver stared at him for a moment.
Then his expression changed.
He suddenly looked delighted.
“Ohhh!”
The husband frowned.
“Ohhh what?”
The driver pointed proudly toward the woman he had brought over.
“This isn’t your wife.”
“Exactly!” the husband replied. “So why did you bring her here?”
The driver grinned.
“Because she’s my wife!”
The husband just stared at him.
For several seconds, neither man said a word.
Finally, the husband asked, “Wait… your wife?”
“Yes!” the driver said. “I saw her at the hotel too!”
The husband slowly realized what had happened.
The driver had misunderstood the entire situation.
Instead of finding the man’s wife, he had apparently found his own wife and thought he’d just been given a $500 opportunity to solve his own marriage problem.
The husband shook his head.
“No, no, no. Forget the $500. We need to find my wife!”
The driver’s smile disappeared.
“Oh.”
He looked back toward the hotel.
“Right.”
Then he opened the taxi door.
“Okay. I’m going for yours.”

The husband sat there in stunned silence as the driver headed back toward the hotel.
He couldn’t decide what was more unbelievable:
That his wife had entered the hotel with another man…
Or that the taxi driver had somehow managed to turn a simple $500 job into his own personal marital investigation.
A few minutes later, the driver returned.
This time, he brought the correct woman.
The husband looked at her, then at the driver.
“You’re absolutely sure this is my wife?”
The driver checked the photograph one more time.
“Absolutely.”
The husband sighed with relief.
Then he noticed the driver’s wife sitting in the back seat.
She was staring at her husband with her arms crossed.
The driver immediately became nervous.
The husband looked at him.
“Are you sure you want to take her home?”
The driver swallowed.
“Honestly?”
“Yes.”
“I think I might need that $500 more than I thought.”
The husband couldn’t help laughing.
What had started as a $500 request to retrieve a wife had turned into a situation where the taxi driver had accidentally discovered his own marriage problem too.
5. ENDING
The husband finally said, “You know what? Keep the $500.”
The driver smiled.
“Really?”
“Yes. But next time, check the picture before you grab the wrong wife!”
The driver nodded seriously.
“Lesson learned.”
His wife immediately leaned forward.
“Oh, you learned a lesson, did you?”
The driver’s smile vanished.
The husband looked at him and whispered:
“Good luck.”
And suddenly, that $500 didn’t seem nearly enough for the driver anymore.
